A Tiny Ray of Hope

I was just looking around on my blog and according to my little ligit thingy, someone other than the three people following me has actually visited! I'm so pleased. I was about to file 13 this blog, but I think I will stick around a while longer.

Revelations From The Clouds

I was sitting out on my front porch this morning, just looking around and enjoying the nice weather. I do this a lot! The sky was such a pretty blue with just a couple of poofy white clouds. So serene and peaceful. I got to thinking about what I was seeing and how sometimes you find familiar shapes in the clouds. It's fun to do. Then I thought about what it was like up over those clouds. Until now, I just wondered how it could be. Thanks to a plane trip to Pennsylvania, I can try to explain what it is like. It's truely amazing! There is cities up there in the clouds! I mean, I saw skyscrapers, domes, all sorts of buildings. There's trees, rivers, mountains, valleys and lakes all with a beautiful blue sky above it. The colors are so vibrant. Blues, grays, yellows and whites. So clean and fresh looking. I especially enjoyed the sunset. Again the colors were fantastic. So many shades of orange and red. I took some pictures, but no camera can do it justice nor can my description.
There was several times when I looked down, I could see the ground below. That is an awesome sight as well. I saw a lot of farms and different kinds of crops that I'm not able to name. The rolling hills all looked so lush and green. I could see houses and cars on the highways and roads. Of course, everything looked so small, but it made me feel so big. To be able to see all of that with my two little eyes. It got me to thinking about something I have turned over in my mind hundreds of times. I have grown up knowing that God is omnipresent (everywhere at the same time). I know that he sees all things.
I accept it, I believe it. I just never could get my brain to wrap around how. While I was up there in that plane, I felt a tiny bit of what it must be like for God. I mean, I saw soooo much from just a little window. Just imagine being as big as God. Of course he'd be able to see all things. Now I know that "sees all things" encompasses much more than just the visual (he sees into our hearts and minds as well), but for a few moments, my finite mind could relate, from a human standpoint, and begin to understand the total awesomeness of God. I am so grateful to have had that experience.

Fishy E-mail

I have been hearing a lot about David Axelrod sending e-mails to people because of some "fishy e-mails". I must tell you, I'm starting to feel a little left out. I don't think anyone I know has gotten one. Is this like those stimulus checks some people were getting? Oh, yeah, I forgot, you have to be dead to get those. If you have gotten an e-mail from Axelrod, let me know.

AARP

I remember when my parents first joined AARP. They really seemed to like it, so I thought, when I get old enough, I will join too. Well, I will be 50 this October, and one of the things I won't be doing is joining AARP! As long as they are backing the health care bill, I will not back them. I am also telling everyone I know not to join, or if they already have, to cancel their membership. I went on the AARP website and looked around. They didn't have an e-mail to contact them or I would have told them directly that I wouldn't be joining. I may still call them. I think there was a phone number. I also sent an e-mail to Glenn Beck telling him the same thing I'm telling you here.

So, all of you dear blog readers, if you are 50 or about to turn 50, don't join AARP!

This is just one way I am fighting the health care bill. I do not want this to pass!
Get a copy of the bill and read it. I looked over some of it the other night. I do intend to read it all, if I ever get passed the tittles and subtittles. Geez, I think I was on page 16 and hadn't even gotten to the actual bill yet! It may take me a long time to read, but hey, I'm not getting paid to do it, so I can take my time. The rest of you bozos that are supposed to be representing "We The People" had better get to it. After all, you are getting paid!

The Vacation Is Over

Phew! We are home at last! We had a great time, but there's truly no place like home. I have tons of pictures and I will write more in a day or so, once I get my thoughts in order.

Going On Vacation

Tomorrow hubby and I will be on our way to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is sort of a working vacation for us. We are going to paint 2 houses, but it looks like there will be some down time for sightseeing and such. The first week, we will be staying in the city of Pittsburgh. The second week, we will be in the Allegheny Mountains at a little cabin on the river. It is about an hour away, north of the city and a beautiful place. We were there 2 years ago and loved it. That time, we drove up from here. It was some hard driving. We covered 7 states in 2 days. The first leg, we stopped in Nashville for a night. The next day, we went all the way to Pennsylvania. What a ride! We were on a stricter schedule then. This time, we will be flying. That is going to be interesting to say the least. I have only been on a plane once when I was 9 years old. It was a short trip. From New Orleans to Tampa, Fla. I don't remember much about it, so you could say this is going to be a new experience for me. We will stop in Washington D.C., but only for about 45 minutes. I would have liked to see some of that city too. I figure, if I take a nerve pill and maybe get a shot of whiskey at the airport, I should be ok for the duration of the flight. A friend suggested I take along a book. I have a couple in mind, but I don't want anything too deep. Just some light reading and I definately don't want anything about airplanes, terrorists and stuff like that. Maybe I'll just take the funny papers, or one of my grandkids story books!
All in all, I am excited about the trip and looking forward to some different scenery. I hope to have some good pictures to post when I get back. Until then, keep on blogging!
